The first Addressing Issues seminar will take place on 10th February, 2010 at Winford Manor Conference Centre near Bristol and further dates and venues will be announced soon.
A free seminar programme designed to promote the effective use and management of geographic information by Emergency Services will begin on 10th February, 2010. Sponsored by spatial technology company GGP Systems, the first one-day event will focus on the development of the National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) and it's adoption by UK emergency services. The seminar will feature real world projects using gazetteer data for a variety of applications including Command and Control, shared services and preparation for the FiReControl project and showcase the latest innovative software.
Addressing Issues seminars will feature an update on the development of the NLPG from custodians and addressing specialists together with a series of case studies from organisations who have already implemented the data and are using it on a day-to-day basis to gain service improvements and operational efficiencies across their organisation. Attendees can also get hands on experience of gazetteer and geographic information software specifically developed for the Emergency Services.
