40A, 12V charge rating Automatically charges battery 3 step charging - bulk - absorption - float Current limited output Ideal for daily battery charging No water boil off 3 year warranty The Auto Charge 3 step Charger is a compact, completely automatic battery charger designed specifically for periodic charging. Of rugged construction, the charger is made to withstand the shock and vibration encountered in vehicle mounted equipment. Utilizing the 3 step charging cycle, this charger will rapidly recharge batteries. Initially the discharged battery is recharged at a constant current (bulk charge). As the terminal voltage rises, the controller switches to a constant voltage (absorption or finish charge) until the output current drops below a predetermined point. At this point the output voltage switches to the float level and the battery is maintained. A timer is provided to automatically switch the charger out of the finish mode when an old or leaky battery is detected. Five LED indicators are provided to indicate the various states in which the charger is operating.
