Event Overview:

Protect 2012: Risks and Emergency Management Conference

Protect 2012 consists of an international conference and an exhibit. This year’s conference will focus on SECURITY FOR TOMORROW’S WORLD: RISKS AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT. Focus will be on risks arising from the cyber world, social media and natural disasters.
The exhibits will introduce to the conference delegates and guests products and systems for overcoming their safety challenges. The conference ends with product demos of exhibit products.

Major disasters like terrorist attacks and mass epidemics are raising compounding issues. In the area of cybersecurity, while intrusions have been the common threat, social networking and mobile devices are adding to worries. Moreover, as cloud computing continues to grow, traditional security is becoming insufficient. On the health front, the trade in counterfeit and unlicensed pharmaceuticals has become one of the biggest cash generators.

Indeed, “Necessity may well be called the mother of invention, but calamity is the test of integrity”. The key question here is “What can an organization or community do to survive a major calamity and avoid business disruption?”

The ultimate test of organisational integrity is resiliency. Recognizing this, Protect 2012 will highlight information and tools that everyone needs to know to enhance organisational resiliency amidst new threats. Discussions will focus on two major tracks: the strategic and the tactical paths.
