Each year, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) sponsors the official national tribute to all firefighters who died in the line of duty during the previous year. Thousands attend the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend in Emmitsburg, Maryland. On May 6 and 7, the nation will pause to honor 145 fallen firefighters at the 42nd National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend.
